Family ties.
In 1930, great-grandfather Christian Rettenwander acquired the Riedlhof and was already welcoming guests back then. Traditional Tyrolean cuisine and convivial hours in the parlors were the hallmarks of the Riedlwirt.
In 1985, Grandpa Christian Rettenwander expanded the then still small inn by 60 beds and the Hotel Riedl was born. The Hotel Riedl is still family-run today and is an insider tip for anyone looking for peace, comfort, naturalness and authentic Tyrolean hospitality.
Did you know?
Over 100 years ago, the Riedlhof was still a schoolhouse. According to the Kössen local history book: "In 1876, the municipality acquired a room in a centrally located house, which later became the 'Riedl' inn, and set up the Niederbichl elementary school there. Until the construction of the new school building in 1902, children from several Kössen districts were taught here."

The lobby.
Just (have to) consciously do nothing again: just have time, find peace and perhaps read a good book with a cup of tea. Relax in our lounge furniture in the quiet atmosphere of the lobby.
The jewel in the crown of our lobby is the bookshelf, which contains, among other things, exciting testimonies of the Riedl's earlier days: Old guest books, photos and records have been given a place of honor there.
Treat yourself once again to moments here at the Riedl that make you happy and healthy... Time to consciously experience nature again, to slow down and find peace and quiet.
