The "Kössen Bichlach" bus stop for public buses is just a 5-minute walk from the hotel. From there you can take the bus to Walchsee and Kössen and leave your car at home =) In winter, the ski bus also stops at this bus stop and takes you to the valley station of the Unterbergbahnen HochKössen. With the KaiserwinklCard (already included in your vacation price) you can use the public buses in the region free of charge. You can find the current bus timetables here.

If you would like to cycle in an environmentally conscious way, you can hire bikes and e-bikes (for a fee) from us from May to October and plan beautiful tours in the region. Travel time by bike from Bichlach to Kössen is only approx. 20 minutes.

The food used in the Riedl kitchen is preferably sourced from regional partners and traders as well as farmers and food retailers from the region and Austria. We also attach great importance to seasonal products. With a few exceptions, you will therefore find predominantly Austrian wines on our wine list - not only can we offer you excellent wines from Lower Austria and Burgenland, but we also save ourselves long delivery routes and support Austrian family businesses.

We have also relied on strong regional partners for renovation work and craftsmanship since the very beginning of the Riedl. This results in short transportation and access routes. The labor market is also sustainably strengthened and supported within the region. When it comes to the materials we use, we pay attention to environmentally conscious processing and origin. Ecological & sustainable - All of our hotel linen - from tablecloths and bed linen to bathrobes and bath towels - is washed and cared for directly on site at the hotel.
This allows us to avoid unnecessary and environmentally damaging transportation to and from laundries. Furthermore, we can contribute to the longevity of our linen by handling it with care.

You are welcome to support us on this point - here's a little thought experiment: can you imagine how many tons of towels are washed every day in all the hotels in the world and what enormous quantities of detergent end up in the water as a result?
You have the choice and make the decision: Towels thrown into the bath or shower means: please replace. Towels back on the holder means: I'll use them again.

At our various buffets, we try to avoid unnecessary individual packaging materials wherever possible. Where possible, we work with suppliers to use reusable packaging and containers instead of disposable ones. Where possible, we also avoid individually packaged cosmetics/skincare products in the rooms - we deliberately use paper sleeves instead of plastic for our hand soaps in the rooms. In addition, there are economical soap and shampoo dispensers in the showers and public areas such as the wellness area and toilets.

The cold drink cups in the wellness area (not allowed in glass) are made of PLA bioplastic. This material is made from renewable and natural raw materials (e.g. corn starch). The same applies to drinking straws.

Waste separation: After separating the waste, the individual components such as cardboard, plastic, glass etc. are taken directly to the nearby recycling center and disposed of properly there.
Together with suppliers, we make sure - where possible - to use reusable packaging and containers instead of disposable ones.
Food waste is collected professionally by the Kaiserwinkl organic waste disposal company and converted into environmentally friendly energy with the help of biogas plants.

Our hotel has full thermal insulation on the entire façade and almost all windows are equipped with particularly good insulation through triple glazing. This is intended to prevent more energy than necessary being used for heating.
We endeavor to use renewable materials as much as possible.

Electricity:

• NEW from spring 2024: our hotel's own photovoltaic system for resource-saving energy generation
• Regular cleaning and maintenance of all electronic devices used in the hotel prevents them from becoming energy guzzlers.
• The majority of our lamps are equipped with energy-saving LED bulbs. Motion detectors are also used to avoid unnecessary power consumption wherever possible.

Water:

• The drinking water in Kössen has an excellent water quality and is also very healthy for the body due to its high lime content.
  By handling our Kössen spring water with care, we ensure that it will last for a long time to come.

Guaranteed congestion-free and environmentally conscious!

The ideal destination station is the border station of the fortress town of Kufstein. From there you can travel to us in the Kaiserwinkl region by public bus (bus stop directly in front of the station building) (journey time approx. 45 minutes). Our public bus stop "Kössen Bichlach" is only a 5-minute walk from the hotel.

If you prefer a convenient shuttle service with drop-off directly in front of the hotel entrance, the Kaiserwinkl Tourist Office will be happy to organize inexpensive shuttle connections for you in cooperation with "Four Seasons Tirol".
